The Short Answer
PRX-T33 and BioRePeel are both needle-free, TCA-based treatments that refresh skin texture and glow with little or no peeling. Profhilo and other skin boosters are injections of hyaluronic acid that hydrate the skin from within. If you want brighter, smoother skin without needles, a TCA-based treatment like PRX-T33 is a sensible place to start. If your skin feels thin, crepey or dehydrated and you are happy to have injections, a skin booster may suit you better.
I offer PRX-T33 at my clinic in Dunstable. I do not offer BioRePeel or any injectables, so I have no reason to oversell one over another.

What Is PRX-T33?
PRX-T33 contains trichloroacetic acid (TCA) at 33%, moderated by a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide, plus kojic acid, which is often used for uneven tone. On its own, TCA at that strength would be a medium-depth peel. In PRX-T33 the formula is designed to work in the deeper layers while keeping the surface effect gentle, so most people see little or no peeling.
I massage it in by hand, in layers, watching how your skin responds each time. It feels warm and tingly, sometimes itchy for a moment, and no numbing is needed. A course is usually 3 to 5 sessions about a week apart. My full guide, PRX-T33 Explained, covers the session and aftercare in more detail.
What Is BioRePeel?
BioRePeel (often written BioRePeelCl3) is a different branded formula. It is also TCA-based, with added amino acids and vitamins, and like PRX-T33 it is applied and massaged into the skin with low downtime. People choose it for similar reasons: texture, glow, congestion and uneven tone.
Because both are TCA-based, needle-free and low in downtime, they are close cousins rather than rivals, and the practitioner's skill matters more than the brand. I have chosen to work with PRX-T33 because it suits the concerns I see most often, but I would not tell you BioRePeel is a poor treatment.
What Are Profhilo and Skin Boosters?
"Skin booster" is a broad term for injectable treatments that aim to improve skin quality rather than add volume. Most are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that holds water in the skin. Profhilo is one well-known brand. It is injected at a few set points on each side of the face and spreads through the skin, and the usual course is 2 sessions about a month apart, with top-ups later.
Different types of skin boosters, and which suits which concern
- Hyaluronic acid boosters (such as Profhilo): for dehydrated, crepey or thinning skin that has lost its bounce.
- Hyaluronic acid with added ingredients, such as amino acids: aimed at skin quality and fine lines, often chosen for similar reasons.
- Polynucleotides: another injectable category, often discussed for skin quality and the delicate under-eye area. Ask your practitioner about the evidence for your concern.
- Needle-free "boosters": PRX-T33 is sometimes described as a needle-free skin booster. It is really a TCA-based treatment, and it suits people who want texture and glow rather than deep hydration.
Can Profhilo lift jowls?
Not in the way most people hope. Profhilo can make skin look firmer and better hydrated, but it is not a lifting treatment. If jowls are your main concern, my guide to jowls treatment without surgery explains the options, and What Is HIFU? covers how structural lifting works.
Injectables should always be given by a properly trained, insured practitioner who can manage any complications. Prices vary by clinic, so it is worth comparing qualifications as well as cost.
Not Sure Which Treatment Suits Your Skin?
Book a free consultation in Dunstable. I will look at your skin, talk through your goals and tell you honestly whether PRX-T33 is right for you, or whether something I do not offer would serve you better.
Is PRX Better Than Microneedling?
They do different jobs. PRX-T33 is needle-free and you can usually go straight back to your day, which makes it ideal for dullness, rough texture, fine lines and uneven tone. Microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin to prompt a stronger healing response, which is why it is usually the better option for acne scars and deeper texture. It does mean needles and a day or two of redness. You can see what a course looks like in Microneedling Before and After, or read about my microneedling treatment.
Is the PRX-T33 Peel Worth It?
For the right person, yes. It is worth considering if:
- Your skin looks tired, dull or uneven
- You have rough texture, enlarged-looking pores or mild scarring
- You cannot take a week off for a traditional peel to settle
- You would rather avoid needles
It is probably not worth it if your main concern is sagging, deep pitted scars, or a pigmentation condition such as melasma that needs a doctor's input first. In those cases I would rather point you elsewhere.
How Long Does a PRX Facial Last?
The appointment itself is usually under an hour. As for results:
- After one session: many people notice brighter, smoother skin within a few days, and that glow tends to last a few days to a couple of weeks.
- After a full course: improvements in texture, fine lines and tone build over the 3 to 5 sessions and the weeks after.
- Longer term: with daily SPF and good skincare, results can last for several months. Many people book occasional maintenance sessions.
Results vary from person to person, and I will never promise a particular outcome.
Who Each Treatment Suits
PRX-T33 suits you if you want visible improvement in texture and glow, no needles and minimal downtime.
BioRePeel suits you if you want a similar needle-free, low-downtime approach and have found a trusted practitioner who uses it.
Profhilo or a skin booster suits you if your skin feels dehydrated, thin or crepey, you are comfortable with injections, and you are seeing a qualified injector.
None of these is right if your main concern is structural sagging. That needs a different approach entirely.
Choosing the Right Option
Clients come to me from Dunstable, Luton and across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. If you are weighing these options, a consultation is the simplest way to decide. You can read more on my PRX-T33 treatment page, look at chemical peels as another option, and see all current prices on the treatments page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is better, BioRePeel or PRX-T33?
Neither is better for everyone. Both are TCA-based, low-downtime treatments that are massaged into the skin, but they are different branded formulas. PRX-T33 adds hydrogen peroxide and kojic acid, while BioRePeel adds amino acids and vitamins. The skill of the practitioner and whether the treatment matches your skin matter more than the brand.
Is PRX better than microneedling?
PRX-T33 is better if you want brighter, smoother skin with no needles and almost no downtime. Microneedling is usually the stronger choice for acne scars and deeper texture, but it involves needles and a day or two of redness. Some people benefit from both at different times.
Is the PRX-T33 peel worth it?
It is worth it if your concern is dullness, rough texture, fine lines, mild scarring or uneven tone and you cannot take time off. It is not worth it if you want lifting or tightening, because it does not work on the deeper structural layers. A consultation is the best way to find out.
How long does a PRX facial last?
The appointment itself is usually under an hour. The glow after one session tends to last a few days to a couple of weeks, while the improvement from a full course of 3 to 5 sessions can last for several months with daily SPF and good skincare. Many people book occasional maintenance sessions.
Is anything better than Profhilo?
It depends on the concern. Profhilo is designed to improve hydration and skin quality, not to lift. For sagging along the jawline, a lifting treatment such as HIFU is more suitable. For texture, glow and uneven tone without needles, PRX-T33 or a chemical peel may suit you better. For acne scars, microneedling is often a better fit.
Can I have PRX-T33 with Profhilo or skin boosters?
They are often combined, because they work in different ways. If you have injectables elsewhere, tell both practitioners and leave a sensible gap between treatments, usually at least a couple of weeks, so each can be assessed properly.
