Facials at Amina Beauty

A good facial should leave your skin clearer and calmer, not just smelling nice. At our Dunstable clinic, every facial is built around what your skin needs that day, whether you have travelled over from Houghton Regis after a stressful week or come from Luton because your skin has been breaking out.

Amina trained in beauty therapy to VTCT Level 2 and 3, and facials are where that grounding shows. She looks at your skin before deciding on the products and steps, rather than following the same routine for everyone.

If you would like more than a one-off treat, a facial pairs well with our £45 Personalised Skin Care Plan consultation, where we look at your skin in depth and put together a home routine and treatment plan that suits your budget.

What Is Facials?

Our facials follow the core steps of professional skin care: a double cleanse, exfoliation suited to your skin, extractions where they are needed, a treatment mask, facial massage and a finish with moisturiser and SPF. The difference is in how each step is chosen. Oily, congested skin might have a deeper exfoliation and careful extractions, while dry or reactive skin gets a gentler approach with more focus on hydration and calming.

The massage is a part many clients look forward to. It helps you relax and gives the skin a fresh, healthy look by the end of the appointment.

A facial is also a good way to start if you are new to skin treatments. It lets Amina get to know your skin, and if a peel, PRX-T33 or microneedling might help with a particular concern later on, she can talk that through with you without any pressure.

What Happens on the Day

  1. Skin chat

We ask how your skin has been, what you use at home and anything you would like us to focus on, then look closely at your skin under good light.

  2. Double cleanse

Make-up and daily build-up are removed first, followed by a second cleanse chosen for your skin type.

  3. Exfoliate and extract

Your skin is exfoliated to lift dead cells, then extractions are carried out gently where they will help. If your skin does not need them, we skip them.

  4. Mask and massage

A mask suited to your skin is applied, and you relax through a facial massage of the face, neck and shoulders.

  5. Finish with SPF

We finish with serum, moisturiser and SPF, and share a few simple, practical tips for looking after your skin at home.

Aftercare

  • Leave make-up off for a few hours if you can
  • Avoid scrubs and strong actives for 24 to 48 hours after extractions
  • Drink water and keep your skin moisturised
  • Wear SPF every day, even when it is cloudy
  • Try not to touch or pick at any areas that were extracted

Facials Questions

What is the difference between a facial and the Personalised Skin Care Plan?
A facial is a hands-on treatment. The £45 Personalised Skin Care Plan is a consultation where we look at your skin in depth, talk through your goals and put together a home routine and treatment plan. Many clients do both, starting with the plan and then booking facials as part of it.
Are extractions painful?
They can feel a little uncomfortable, but we keep them gentle and only extract where it will genuinely help. You can ask us to stop or skip them at any point.
Who should not have a facial?
We may need to adapt or postpone a facial if you have sunburn, an active cold sore, a skin infection, a flare of a condition such as eczema, or have recently had a peel, laser or injectable treatment. Let us know about allergies and any prescription skin medication when you book.
I am coming from Houghton Regis or Luton. Where is the clinic?
We are in Dunstable, a few minutes from Houghton Regis and a short drive from Luton. We send the exact address once you book, and you can message us on WhatsApp if you need directions on the day.
Is a facial suitable before an event?
Yes, but we suggest booking a few days ahead rather than the same day, especially if you are prone to congestion. That gives any redness from extractions time to settle.
